1st Duke of Northumberland KG

• Sir Hugh Smithson (later Percy), 4th Baronet, 2nd Earl of Northumberland, 1st Duke of Northumberland, Earl Percy, 1st Baron Lovaine KG (1714–1786) married Elizabeth Seymour, 2nd Baroness Percy, daughter of Algernon Seymour, 7th Duke of Somerset, 1st Earl of Northumberland and 1st Baron Percy. Barony of Lovaine, of Alnwick created with special remainder to his second son Lord Algernon Percy later 1st Earl of Beverley. Took the name of Percy in lieu of that of Smithson in 1750 by Act of Parliament.

2nd Duke of Northumberland KG when 3rd Baron Percy

• Hugh Smithson (later Percy), 2nd Duke of Northumberland, 3rd Baron Percy KG (1742–1817) succeeded his mother in 1776 as 3rd Baron Percy. Took the name of Percy in lieu of that of Smithson in 1750 by Act of Parliament.
• Hugh Percy, 3rd Duke of Northumberland, 4th Baron Percy KG (1785–1847)

4th Duke of Northumberland KG when 1st Baron Prudhoe

• Algernon Percy, 4th Duke of Northumberland, 5th Baron Percy, 1st Baron Prudhoe KG (1792–1865)

On his death the Barony of Prudhoe became extinct and the Barony of Percy devolved upon his great-nephew and heir-general, John James Henry Hugh Murray, 7th Duke of Atholl. See below.

• Algernon George Percy, 6th Duke of Northumberland KG (1810–1899) married Louisa Drummond (1813–1890), 1st daughter and coheiress of Henry Drummond MP, of Albury Park, co. Surrey, by his wife Lady Henrietta Hay-Drummond, 1st daughter by his second wife of Robert Auriol Hay-Drummond, 10th Earl of Kinnoull.
