On his death the Marquessate of Hastings, the Earldoms of Moira and Rawdon, the Viscountcy of Loudoun and the two Baronies of Rawdon became extinct, his Scottish titles (i,e, the Earldom of Loudoun and the Lordships of Campbell of Loudoun and of Tarrinzean and Mauchline) passed to his eldest sister and heir of line, and his six English Baronies in fee (i.e. Grey of Ruthin, Botreaux, Hungerford, de Moleyns, Hastings de Hastings and Hastings de Hungerford) fell into abeyance between his four sisters and co-heiresses.
