3rd and 1st Earl of Southampton KG
- Henry Wriothesley, 3rd and 1st Earl of Southampton KG (1573–1624) Found guilty of treason, and attainted in 1601, and all his honours forfeited but pardoned in 1603. Created Baron Wriothesley of Titchfield and Earl of Southampton, with "place and precedence as previous to his deprivation".

- Thomas Wriothesley, 4th and 2nd Earl Earl of Southampton, 2nd Earl of Chichester KG (1607–1667) Married as his second wife, Lady Elizabeth Leigh (d. 1654), 1st daughter and coheiress of Francis Leigh, 1st Earl of Chichester. Succeeded his father-in-law in 1653 as 2nd Earl of Chichester.

1st Earl of Chichester
- Francis Leigh, 1st Earl of Chichester, 1st Baron Dunsmore, 1st Baronet (1598–1653) Created Baron Dunsmore of Dunsmore, with remainder, failing the heirs male of his body, to "John Anderson, of Hardwick, co. Huntingdon, grandson and heir male of Sir Edmund Anderson, and eldest son of Audrey (now wife of Francis Leigh and formerly wife of Sir Francis Anderson), and to the heirs male of his body". Created Earl of Chichester, for life "with remainder to Thomas, Earl of Southampton and the heirs male of his body by Elizabeth, daughter the said Francis, and remainder to the heirs male of the body of the said Elizabeth". On his death the Barony of Dunsmore became extinct, the remainder clause in the letters patent creating that title being inoperative due to the death of Sir John Anderson in 1630 . The Earldom of Chichester passed to his son-in-law the 4th Earl of Southampton. The Baronetcy of Leigh of Newnham also became extinct.
