- Charles Pierrepont, 1st Earl Manvers, 1st Viscount Newark and Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepont (1737–1816) Born Charles Medows, the second son of Philip Medows and Lady Frances, daughter of Evelyn Pierrepont, 1st Duke of Kingston-upon-Hull. In 1788 took the name of Pierrepont instead of that of Medows by Royal Licence 1788 on inheriting the Pierrepont estates on the death of his maternal aunt, the Duchess of Kingston-upon-Hull.
