The House of Seinsheim regarded Erchanger, Duke of Swabia († 917) as their ancestor.

  • Hildebrand († 1386) considered the founder of the Stephansberg or Princely line and his brother the founder of the junior Seinsheim line (extinct 1958).
  • Erkinger VI, (1362-1437) received Schwarzenberg 1420, became Lord of Schwarzenberg in 1429 and bought Hohenlandsberg in 1435: All Schwarzenbergs descend from Erkinger and his two wives, Anna von Bibra (+ 1418) and Barbara von Abensberg (+1448).
